Damanhour, Egypt --- 16 September 2026, as Egypt accelerates its digital transformation under the ambitious framework of Egypt Vision 2030, modernizing higher education through sustainable, intelligent technologies has become a cornerstone of national progress. Fostering this synergy between academic innovation and industry excellence, Ruijie Networks EBG proudly served as a key official sponsor of RoboDam 2026, the National AI and Robotics Competition for Sustainability and Energy Efficiency.
Hosted by the Faculty of Computers and Information at Damanhour University in strategic partnership with the Information Technology Institute (ITI) and local technology leader Golden Technology, the landmark event took place on 14 September 2026 at the Creativa Damanhour Digital Innovation Hub in Beheira Governorate.
RoboDam 2026 brought together over 300 student innovators across 65 qualified teams representing 21 public, national, and private universities from across Egypt. The competition was organized under the patronage of Egyptian government leadership, drawing prominent figures from academia, government ministries, and the ICT sector:
In his opening address, Prof. Elhamy Trabes emphasized that Damanhour University is establishing itself as a national platform for applied innovation and technological entrepreneurship. He highlighted that RoboDam 2026 is an embodiment of Egypt's strategic commitment to environmental sustainability and energy optimization, enabling youth to harness artificial intelligence as a steward for natural resources.
Teams competed across three core tracks: Smart Robotics for Energy Optimization, IoT-based Sensor Network Solutions, and AI & Big Data Analytics for Energy Forecasting and Waste Mitigation. The rigorous judging panel evaluated functional prototypes, culminating in top national honors for projects such as the AI-driven "Eco Machine" from Sadat City University and the "Power Step" piezoelectric energy-harvesting solution from Kafrelsheikh National University.
Highlighting the vital role of multinational technology vendors in nation-building, the event featured a dedicated executive session led by Eng. Abdelfattah Khaled, Country Manager of Ruijie Networks EBG Egypt, alongside Eng. Ezat Atef, CEO of Golden Technology.
Eng. Abdelfattah Khaled participated in a high-level roundtable with university leadership and ITI directors to address "The Role of AI in Bridging Education and the Labor Market". The dialogue centered on how modern ICT architectures can empower universities to move beyond purely theoretical coursework into hands-on industrial research, equipping engineering graduates with competencies that match international enterprise standards.
During the Technology & Industry Showcase, Ruijie Networks demonstrated how intelligent network infrastructure serves as the fundamental backbone for AI research, smart campuses, and green institutional operations:
Ruijie Networks sponsorship of RoboDam 2026 reflects the company's core corporate philosophy: that meaningful technological advancement must be accompanied by sustainable social responsibility and active youth empowerment. In the era of artificial intelligence, universities require agile, eco-friendly digital foundations capable of nurturing talent from conceptual prototypes into viable commercial startups.
By combining green optical connectivity, high-density wireless innovation, and AI-ready data center architectures with proactive university engagement, Ruijie Networks reaffirms its steadfast dedication to Egypt's higher education ecosystem, helping build the smarter, more sustainable campuses of tomorrow.
